Where have I been?

Apparently no one's heard from me in so long that Martin thinks I've dropped off the face of the earth -

more accurately, I'm glued to a chair with some form of a computer in front of me - working on grants and doing other unmentionable things at work - or in the kitchen cooking for company.

Don't get me wrong - I loved cooking for company - both Thanksgiving and the week after that - I just don't have any pictures of this past weekend.

Now Thanksgiving - that's a different matter - so, until I get a real post up - I promise to answer your question first Maalie - perhaps these will keep you busy so you at least know I have been....

I wish I could do as you say Martin - but there's another hard, long 10 days to this experiment and another grant deadline before the hard work can rest for a bit.

I just don't understand why they think I should actually work hard for a living around here - maybe it's the paycheck thing!

Ah, yes, I was wondering as to your whereabouts. Still, grants must be written. Life must go on. And, of course, we must eat.

Yes, I was beginning to wonder what happened to you, myself.

Again, very nice looking couple there.

Glad Martin got you going again.

Yes, it's a bloomin' nuisance when work starts to get in the way of leisure. You ought to consider retirement ;-) Actually I seem to be busier now I'm retired than I ever was and even last night I dreamed that I was about to sit an exam I hadn't prepared for!

That's a good-looking couple, was that at thanks-giving? May I, in my ignorance, ask what it is that is actually being thanked by sacrificing all those turkeys at thanksgiving? Is it thanks for driving the British out and becoming independent? (Not a trick question, I actually don't know).

Still working hard then? Put you feet up and have a nice cup of earl Grey tea!

I agree with Martin. It's time for a cuppa.

I look forward to another posting, Susan. Hope all is well and you and yours have a blessed season- and beyond. We are certainly blessed in Jesus, though it's not always an easy blessing, but in the end it really does lift us up out of the muck and mire of ourselves, our sin, and this fallen existence- with that new reality we experience as a living hope, even now.

Halfmom Susan,

Have a merry and blessed Christmas, new year and beyond- to you and yours.

Thanks for your fellowship in the blog world. Thanks too for sharing your life in this way, and making it clear that in Jesus and in the gospel you are not ashamed- both because of Jesus and the good news of him- and of his grace at work in our lives.
